Lilium martagon, the martagon lily, or Turk’s cap lily. Striking. There it was, hanging in the hedge next to where I was walking, observing, feeling out the energy of hot summer on the land. “Really!?”, I thought to myself, possibly spoke out loud, “Wow!”

Obviously I had never seen a martagon lily before. It felt somewhat alien and just right at the same time. Like an intergalactic messenger telling you precisely what you didn’t know that you wanted to hear. Spot on.
